The latest survey of GSM/EDGE network deployments by the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) has confirmed that 443 EDGE networks are now commercially launched in 181 countries, compared to 313 commercial networks in 147 countries reported by GSA one year ago. more

GSA Confirms Near 50% Increase in EDGE Network Launches

This compares to 204 commitments one year ago, representing over 40% growth. More 3G/WCDMA Operators Combine with EDGE
A survey by GSA (Global mobile Suppliers Association) of EDGE operator deployments confirms that a growing number of 3G/WCDMA operators are delivering services in combination with GSM/EDGE networks. The survey confirms 61 network operators are deploying or operating combined WCDMA and EDGE networks, compared to 23 one year ago. GSA confirms there are 100 WCDMA networks in commercial service worldwide. A total of 31 combined WCDMA-EDGE networks are in commercial service. more
