GSA Says Over 200 HSDPA Networks Worldwide

Over 200 HSDPA systems worldwide have launched commercial mobile broadband services, according to the latest research published by GSA, the Global mobile Suppliers Association. The GSA survey confirms 207 HSDPA networks have launched in 89 countries. This compares with 126 commercial HSDPA networks in 63 countries reported by GSA 12 months previously.  more

GSA Survey Confirms 637 HSPA Devices Launched

GSA, the Global mobile Suppliers Association has announced that a total of 637 HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) products have now launched, representing an annual growth of 150%. The number of suppliers increased from 62 to 110 in the same period. The survey incorporates product launch announcements at recent trade shows including CES, Mobile World Congress, CeBIT and CTIA.  more

GSA Survey reports 166 HSDPA networks launched in 75 countries

According to a new survey published today by GSA - the Global mobile Suppliers Association, 68 HSDPA networks commercially launched during 2007, representing annual growth of 69%. GSA's latest HSDPA Operator Commitments survey confirms there are 166 commercial HSDPA networks in 75 countries. HSDPA-enabled mobile broadband services extended to 24 new countries during the year. A further 38 networks are committed to HSDPA rollout, to reach a total of 204 HSDPA Operator commitments in 89 countries.  more

GSA confirms 80% of WCDMA networks upgraded with HSDPA

GSA, the Global mobile Suppliers Association, said today that WCDMA has achieved 70% market share of all commercial 3G networks. A total of 182 WCDMA networks are commercially launched in 81 countries, of which 144 networks (i.e. almost 80%) in 68 countries have also launched HSDPA. Forty HSDPA networks entered commercial service in the past 6 months (i.e. 38% increase).  more

Three Quarters of 3G/WCDMA Operators Have Launched HSPA

New research by GSA ? the Global mobile Suppliers Association, has confirmed that 3G/WCDMA is now commercially launched by 174 network operators in 78 countries. The GSA's latest survey confirms that 128 HSDPA networks have commercially launched service in 63 countries, i.e. HSDPA is enabled on almost three quarters of 3G/WCDMA networks. A further 50 HSDPA networks are currently in deployment ? making a total of 178 HSDPA operator commitments in 80 countries, an increase of 71% compared with 104 commitments in July 2006. And the number of commercial HSDPA networks has more than tripled in 12 months, from 42 to 128 today. more

100 HSDPA Netwoks Now Live

The Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) has announced that 100 HSDPA networks have commercially launched mobile broadband services in 54 countries. The GSA says that two-thirds of commercial WCDMA operators have also launched HSDPA, and 89 HSDPA networks have entered commercial service over the past 12 months. more

HSPA to Dominate Mobile Broadband while WiMax goes Niche

With over 93 commercial networks in operation, HSPA is likely to account for the majority of investment in global mobile broadband networks over the next five years, finds a new study by Arthur D. Little. By comparison mobile WiMax will be a niche technology within the overall global mobile broadband wireless access market, likely to account for at most 15% of this network equipment market and perhaps 10% of mobile broadband wireless subscribers by 2011-2012. more

GSA Says HSDPA Launched in 50 Countries

GSA - the Global mobile Suppliers Association, says that 138 mobile network operators have committed to HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) deployments in 63 countries, and commercial HSDPA mobile broadband services are now available in 50 countries.
