Mobile Payment Users Worldwide to Increase 70 Percent in 2009

The mobile payment industry will experience steady growth, as the number of mobile payment users worldwide will total 73.4 million in 2009, up 70.4 percent from 2008 when there were 43.1 million users, reports gartner. The research firm predicts that the number of mobile payment users will reach more than 190 million in 2012, representing more than 3 percent of total mobile users worldwide and attaining a level at which it will be considered "mainstream."  more

Handango Signs Mobile Games Deal with EA Mobile

Mobile software retailer, Handango has announced a deal to distribute mobile games from the mobile division of Electronic Arts. The EA mobile titles including Madden NFL 08, The Sims 2, The Sims Bowling, MONOPOLY Here & Now, TETRIS, Bejeweled, and many more, are now available on leading smartphone platforms including Windows Mobile, BlackBerry and Symbian UIQ through Handango's web properties and Handango's on-device client, InHand.  more
