Gartner Expects 3G iPhone Within Months

Apple is reported to have placed an order for 10 million 3G models of its iPhone handset - according to gartner analyst Ken Dulaney. He cites sources at Asian OEMs that the company has placed the order - in addition to a further order for 10 million of its current model.  more

Worldwide Semiconductor Revenue Increased 3 Percent in 2007

Worldwide semiconductor revenue totaled $270.3 billion in 2007, a 2.9 percent increase from 2006, according to preliminary results from gartner. Vendor performances were mixed with two vendors in the top 10 that experienced double-digit growth and two vendors that showed declines in revenue.  more

Most Telecom Carriers will Fail to Transform into Successful Content Enablers

Traditional telecom carriers can no longer rely on conventional competitive tactics such as price cuts, promotions and basic product bundling to maintain their edge in the consumer segment, warned gartner. Chinese 3G Test Center Opened in South Korea

South Korea's SK Telecom has opened a TD-SCDMA testing office at it's R&D center in Bundang, Korea. The TD-SCDMA Test-bed is a joint project of SK Telecom and the Chinese government. more
