Airspan and Fujitsu Partner in Building WiMAX Base Stations
Airspan Networks and fujitsu have signed a four-year cooperation agreement to jointly build a leading-class Mobile WiMAX Base Station designed for carriers in the 2.5 and 2.3 GHz bands. The new compact and high power Base Station, which Airspan calls "MacroMAXe," is designed to minimize a WiMAX carrier's capital outlay and ongoing operational costs. The Base Station can deliver two to three times the capacity of similar products by using a highly featured implementation of the WiMAX radio interface. MacroMAXe will also enable carriers to operate with both today's and future versions of the Mobile WiMAX Air interface, providing protection for their investment in Mobile WiMAX Infrastructure. more
