A new study by Infonetics Research that provides an in-depth view of service provider thinking and plans for IMS equipment and services, including service provider perceptions of leading IMS vendors, names Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, and Nokia Siemens as the "top IMS equipment manufacturers." According to the study, roughly 3/4 plan to offer fixed VoIP over IMS by April 2009. more

Huawei Selected by Warid to Deploy IMS in Uganda
Huawei says that Warid Group, the fast-growing mobile service provider in South Asia and Africa, has selected it to deploy an IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) system in Uganda. Huawei will construct the IMS core network and integrate it with the WiMAX access network, helping Warid to offer VoIP and IP-based multimedia services. more
