Florida Residents to Get Mobile Content Refunds from Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless and Alltel customers in florida, USA are to get refunds for unauthorised costs for mobile content, the Attorney General Bill McCollum has announced. Verizon Wireless has also agreed to adopt a series of "best practices" standards which will protect consumers from third-party charges, including charges for "free" ringtones and other cell phone content customers either didn't order or didn't realize would result in a monthly charge.  more

Researchers Make Major Step Towards Faster Chips

New research findings could lead to faster, smaller and more versatile computer chips. A team of scientists and engineers from Stanford, the University of florida and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is the first to create one of two basic types of semiconductors using an exotic, new, one-atom-thick material called graphene. The findings could help open the door to computer chips that are not only smaller and hold more memory -- but are also more adept at uploading large files, downloading movies, and other data- and communication-intensive tasks.  more

Samsung Mobile Installs 115 Charging Stations at Three of the Busiest U.S. Airports

Samsung Mobile has set up 115 charging stations at three more US airports to enable passengers to recharge their mobile phones if necessary. The new airports are George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston (IAH), Miami International Airport (MIA) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). Motorola Sues RIM for Poaching Staff

Motorola is suing rival handset manufacturer, Research in Motion after it claimed that company has been poaching its staff. The lawsuit, filed last week says that RIM lured away some 40 of its employees in florida since the beginning of this year.  more
