Qualcomm Introduces 2nd-Gen Embedded Module for Mobile Internet Access

Qualcomm has introduced its second-generation embedded Gobi module, delivering multi-mode 3G mobile Internet access on either HSPA or CDMA2000 ev-do networks in markets around the world. The Gobi2000 module offers a wide range of enhancements, including support for additional radio frequencies, increased data speeds, enhanced GPS functionality and support for additional operating systems such as Windows 7.  more

ZTE, Qualcomm and Aircell Collaborate on In-flight Mobile Broadband System

It has been announced that China's ZTE has been working with Qualcomm to create the networking platform for Aircell's new Inflight Internet service, Gogo, which first began service in August on select American Airlines flights. Appeals Court Affirms that Qualcomm Infringes Two Broadcom Patents

Broadcom has announced that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has upheld a unanimous jury verdict that Qualcomm has infringed two Broadcom patents, and upheld the injunction entered by the district court on those two patents. The appeals court also rejected Qualcomm's request for a new trial. The court ruled that a third patent was invalid.  more

Qualcomm and Broadcom Back in Court Over Patents

Qualcomm and Broadcom were back in court today as the two companies battled over an appeal to last years ruling that blocked Qualcomm from importing WCDMA chips. Last December, U.S. District Judge James Selna ruled that Qualcomm would have to stop importing some WCDMA chips, but could continue to sell some chips which infringed Broadcom patents until January 2009. more

Qualcomm Providing Hosted BREW Platform in Vietnam
