Deutsche Telekom Issues Profits Warning - May Write Down T-Mobile Value
Deutsche Telekom has issued a profits warning, and now expects adjusted EBITDA in 2009 to be 2 to 4 percent below last year. The company is now expecting to post EBITDA in the range of euR18.7 billion - euR19.1 billionn (US$24.7 billionn) after an initial forecast of euR19.5 billion. more

MTS and Sicap Team up to Offer Dynamic SIM Services in Belarus
Mobile network operator, MTS Belarus is to launch a SIM upgrade which will continuously display a PrePay customer's balance on their mobile phone display. The service is being provided by Sicap. Real time information is enabled by connecting a Sicap over the air SIM applet to the MTS call billing server. As such, each call is immediately debited from the account balance and the updated remaining credit displayed. more

Hutchison 3G Ireland Awards Satellite Based Broadband Contract
Avanti Communications, a broadband satellite operator, says that it has been awarded a contract by Hutchison 3G Ireland to supply them with broadband internet access under the Irish Government's National Broadband Scheme. This euR 43 million scheme is designed to bring broadband services to communities all over Ireland which are out of the reach of terrestrial alternatives. Etisalat Interested in Investments in Syria and Lebanon
