Ericsson and Samsung cooperate for world's first LTE interoperability

E­ricsson has announced the successful completion of interoperability tests between its live LTE network in Stockholm, Sweden and Samsung supplied LTE modems. Yesterday, Samsung won a contract to supply those LTE modems to TeliaSonera.  more

Ericsson Wins Chinese 3G Network Contract

ericsson says that it has been selected by China Unicom to supply WCDMA networks and services for 15 Chinese provinces. ericsson, along with its partners, was awarded contracts to supply WCDMA core and/or radio access network systems in 15 provinces, including Beijing, Jilin, Jiangsu, Hubei, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Anhui, Henan, Hainan, Shanxi, Sichuan, Yunnan, Shandong, Guangdong and Hunan.  more

Etisalat upgrading to HSDPA+

UAE based mobile operator, Etisalat has confirmed that it is planning an upgrade of its network to support HSPA+ services. The upgrade should be ready by the second or third quarter of 2009, Marwan Mohammed Al Qadi, Acting Senior Manager, product Marketing at Etisalat told AME Info.  more

Sierra Wireless' Mobile Modems to Support 21 Mbps Download Speeds

Mobile modem manufacturer, Sierra Wireless says that it is gearing up to start production of HSPA+ compatible modems - which will support download speeds of up to 21 Mbps. Australian operator, Telstra is currently rolling out a HSPA+ upgrade and aims to launch the service before the end of this year.  more
