Standards Based Solution for Voice and SMS Services Over LTE Announced

­A gang of telecoms companies have jointly defined the preferred way to ensure the smooth introduction and delivery of voice and SMS services on Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks worldwide. Ericsson and Samsung cooperate for world's first LTE interoperability

E­ricsson has announced the successful completion of interoperability tests between its live LTE network in Stockholm, Sweden and Samsung supplied LTE modems. Yesterday, Samsung won a contract to supply those LTE modems to TeliaSonera.  more

Telefonica Announces Wide-Spread Trials of LTE Networks

­Telefonica says that it has reached an agreement with six LTE technology providers to launch LTE test projects in six different countries. The suppliers Telefonica has chosen so far: Alcatel-Lucent, ericsson, Huawei, NEC, Nokia Siemens Networks and ZTE, will start rolling out the equipment necessary for testing the technology during the coming months.  more

Ericsson Approved as Supplier to AT&T Landline Division

­ericsson says that it has been selected as one of two suppliers for AT&T's Wireline Access products and services. Wireline Access Suppliers will compete with each other for AT&T capital spending on all Wireline Access applications and products, including collaborating with third-party suppliers to provide technologically leading solutions to AT&T.  more

Japanese Operator Launches 21Mbps HSPA+ Network Upgrade

­Japan's first HSPA Evolution (also known as HSPA+) network has been launched in the country's largest metropolitan cities, including Tokyo, Osaka, Yokohama and Nagoya, enabling peak data rates of 21Mbps. The deployment is part of a major expansion and upgrade agreement between ericsson and mobile network operator, Emobile.  more
