Qualcomm and Ericsson Demonstrate LTE TDD Mobility at 2.3 GHz in India
A Qualcomm subsidiary in India and ericsson have successfully demonstrated LTE TDD mobility at 2.3 GHz in an outdoor environment. The demonstration live streamed multiple high-definition video feeds to a mobile van in the Gurgaon area, showing a seamless hand off between base stations while maintaining session continuity. The demonstration was carried out by using Radio Access Network (RAN) and Evolved Packet Core (EPC) solutions from ericsson, and USB dongles based on Qualcomm's MDM9x00 multimode chipset that supports both LTE and 3G. more

India's BSNL Planning 3G Launch Across 700 Cities
India's state-owned operator, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) intends to expand its 3G network to 700 cities across the North and East of the country by June. A second wave of launches in the South of the country will follow in July. ericsson is BSNL's partner for 3G roll-out in over 400 of these cities. more
