Ericsson Quarterly Profits Jump by 59 Percent
ericsson has reported that its group revenues rose by 14 percent in the second-quarter to SEK 54.8 billion (US$8.46 billion), while net income jumped by 59% to SEK 3.2 billion (US$494 million). The rise in profits was despite increased losses at its Sony ericsson and ST-ericsson joint ventures of SEK 800 million (US$123 million). more

Malaysia's Celcom Axiata has awarded network upgrade contracts to ericsson and Huawei which calls for a tripling of the network capacity when the deployment is completed.
