Ericsson Quarterly Profits Jump by 59 Percent
ericsson has reported that its group revenues rose by 14 percent in the second-quarter to SEK 54.8 billion (US$8.46 billion), while net income jumped by 59% to SEK 3.2 billion (US$494 million). The rise in profits was despite increased losses at its Sony ericsson and ST-ericsson joint ventures of SEK 800 million (US$123 million). more

Ericsson and Huawei Win Malaysian Network Upgrade Contracts
Malaysia's Celcom Axiata has awarded network upgrade contracts to ericsson and Huawei which calls for a tripling of the network capacity when the deployment is completed. Rollout for the northern and southern regions plus part of central and eastern regions will be carried out by Huawei, whereas parts of eastern region as well as Sabah and Sarawak will be rolled out by ericsson. more
