Eesti Telekom Q2 Results - Regulator interference had malign consequences

Eesti Telekom of Estonia has reported its Q2 results. These show the impact of both the economic downturn and also regulatory interference. Over the last year, the mobile customer base has reduced from 755k in Q2 08 to 746k now, though the decline is softened to a degree since all of the net loss has come from the prepaid segment, which is down from 275k to 262k. At the same time, overall ARPUs were down on the year, by 14.2% at €16.6 per month, but this represents something of a recovery from the €16.1 seen in Q1.  more
