GSA Confirms 313 EDGE networks launched worldwide
The latest survey of GSM/edge network deployments by GSA, the Global mobile Suppliers Association has reported that edge networks are now commercially launched in 147 countries, compared to 113 countries in May 2007. edge is now widely available throughout Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. For example, edge is now available in several new markets in Africa. more

GSA Survey reports 166 HSDPA networks launched in 75 countries
According to a new survey published today by GSA - the Global mobile Suppliers Association, 68 HSDPA networks commercially launched during 2007, representing annual growth of 69%. GSA's latest HSDPA Operator Commitments survey confirms there are 166 commercial HSDPA networks in 75 countries. HSDPA-enabled mobile broadband services extended to 24 new countries during the year. A further 38 networks are committed to HSDPA rollout, to reach a total of 204 HSDPA Operator commitments in 89 countries. more

GSA Confirms Near 50% Increase in EDGE Network Launches
A new survey by the GSA has confirmed that there are now 287 mobile network operators in 142 countries deploying edge - Enhanced Data rates for Global Evolution. This compares to 204 commitments one year ago, representing over 40% growth. There are 111 edge network commitments in Europe, followed by the Americas/Caribbean (84), Middle East/Africa (50), and APAC (42). more
