Zimbabwe's Econet Wireless to Launch 3G Services Next Month

Zimbabwe's Econet Wireless says that it will launch its 3G network next month. Speaking at a press conference, the company's chief executive officer Mr Douglas Mboweni said the mobile network company was ready to rollout a package of data services based on 3G, GPRS and EDGE technologies.  more

Zimbabwean Operator Starts Network Expansion

Econet Wireless Zimbabwe says that it has started receiving shipment of equipment worth US$200 million from Sweden and China which, when installed, will avert the shortages of lines. The consignment, comprising base station and core network equipment, is expected to be fully installed by the end of the month.  more
