Sprint Nextel Proposes Settlement of ETF Lawsuit

US operator, Sprint Nextel has proposed a settlement of lawsuits relating to its Early Termination Fees (ETF) that were applied to customers who terminated their contracts before they had expired. Under the terms of the proposed settlement, Sprint Nextel has agreed to pay US$14 million into a Common Fund. Sprint Nextel will also provide up to US$3.5 million in Non-Cash Benefits.  more

T-Mobile Agrees to Settle Early Termination Fees Lawsuit

T-Mobile USA has proposed a settlement of a lawsuit against the company for charging early termination fees (ETF) to customers who close their account before their contract has expired. Under the terms of the agreement, which is still waiting for court approval, the company would make a payment of US$11.5 million to customers affected between July 1999 and Feb 2009.  more
