EMEA Market for E-Book Readers More Than Doubled in 2011

­The EMEA market for ereaders more than doubled in 2011 compared to the previous year, reaching total shipments of nearly 4.8 million units, according to IDC. Figures recently released by IDC confirm the strong uptake of ereaders and the huge potential of digital content sales in the EMEA region. Although EMEA still accounts for just over 17% of the worldwide market, IDC forecasts sales in this region to exceed 24 million units by 2016, generating a 37% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the forecast period.  more
