Axell Wireless has announced that it is deploying a multi-band radio system to provide wireless coverage throughout the giant Lainzer train tunnel in Vienna. The system, which caters for Multiband public safety system including Tetra and analogue, GSM-R, GSM and 3G signals, will meet all the communication requirements of the rail network, emergency services and mobile network operators. Commission issues guidelines to get Mobile TV on Europeans' mobile phones
The European Commission has taken a decisive step towards the promotion of Mobile TV services within the EU. It has published a set of guidelines for the authorisation of Mobile TV to accelerate roll-out of the service across Europe. The commercial services launched before summer 2008 in some European countries show that there is an increasing consumer demand: in the Netherlands alone, 10 000 users had already subscribed to the service at the beginning of autumn. more

After 18 months, Singapore DigitalĂ's TV2GO mobile TV trial will shut-down at the end of this month - in preparation for a possible commercial launch. Aimed at providing technical experience in the implementation and operation of digital video broadcasting-handheld (dvb-h) services, the TV2GO trial has also enabled a range of interactive services to be road-tested.
