DragonWave Strengthens Horizon Portfolio With Expanded Frequency Coverage

Navajo Nation to Test LTE Network

dragonwave has announced that the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority (NTUA) has agreed to a commercial field test using dragonwave's Horizon Quantum backhaul for an LTE pilot network. The NTUA is currently pursuing funding for a US$46 million grant that includes a 530 mile of fiber optic deployment and a 57-site LTE network that would provide broadband throughout 15,000 miles of the Navajo Nation, which, at 27,000 square miles, is the largest American Indian land base in the United States.  more

DragonWave Wins Italian WiMAX Backhaul Contract

Ethernet backhaul vendor, dragonwave has announced that Italy's Linkem will deploy its Horizon Compact radios for backhaul in their new WiMAX network. Linkem provides both nationwide Wi-Fi Hotspot services and Wireless DSL services in Italy. At the beginning of 2008 the company consolidated this position by acquiring 13 regional WiMAX licenses to provide mobile broadband coverage to 80% of the Italian population.  more

Huawei Wins Pakistan WiMAX Contract

Huawei has been selected by Pakistan GSM operator, Mobilink to deploy a commercial WiMAX 16e network. The network will cover central business districts and hot spots in the country's six major cities, including Islamabad, Karachi, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Lahore and Rawalpindi.  more
