DoCoMo Shows Off Concept Phone Made from Wood

DoCoMo Launches Takeover of German Mobile Content Distributor

­Japan's docomo has announced an agreed takeover of Germany based mobile content distributor, net mobile AG. The company is offering , EUR 6.35 per share for all outstanding shares of net mobile. The offer price represents a 53.9 percent premium over the three-month average weighted share price prior to this announcement and a 34.2 percent premium over the closing price on September 10, 2009.  more

Subscriptions to DoCoMo's Credit Payment Service Top 10 million

­Japan's NTT docomo has announced that the number of subscribers to its credit payment service, DCMX has now topped 10 million users. DCMX is a service brand for docomo-issued credit cards, which allows subscribers to make purchases using their mobile phones as credit cards via iD, docomo's branded mobile payment platform for handsets equipped with contactless IC cards (Osaifu-Keitai). For security, docomo's Osaifu-Keitai phones can be locked remotely over the wireless network if misplaced or stolen.  more

DoCoMo Profits Slip 15% to $1.55 Billion

Japan's NTT docomo has reported a drop of 15.1% in its net profit as the company saw increased competition putting pressure on voice call tariffs. Net profit was ¥147.4 billion ($1.55 billion), down on the ¥173.5 billion a year ago. Revenues fell by 7.3% to ¥1.085 trillion yen.  more
