Tecnomen wins Finnish MMS contract
Tecnomen has been chosen to deliver a multimedia messaging service centre (MMSC) to Finland's Finnish 2G Ltd. 2G is a GSM/GPRS network operator whose service provider customers include DNA and Telia Mobile. Subscribers who do not have MMS-capable handsets receive an SMS notification and can connect to a service provider's website to view their MMS message. more

Breakthrough technology called SoftSIM from TeleDNA will provide seamless roaming
The America based wireless technology firm TeleDNA has announced a new technology called SoftSIM, which can remove the need for SIM cards when accessing user data on a GSM network. This software based concept can enable any wireless device to access the existing carrier's core networks that provide roaming, authentication, subscription management and billing services. This product is aimed at PDA's and laptop computers that have a wireless connection built in for non-cellular wireless networks, such as WLAN or 802.11b, but not the necessary SIM card reader for it to access the cellular networks billing. The idea is that it can offer a cheaper solution for cellular networks to provide single billing for people roaming onto WLAN from GSM. more
