AlanDick Gets Tunnel Vision in Malaysia

AlanDick says that it has developed and installed a unique cellular, emergency service and maintenance radio solution for a motorway tunnel system in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, that duals as a massive storm drain during flash floods. The company has developed two separate radio communications systems for the Storm Water Management and Road Tunnel (SMART), being constructed by the Government of Malaysia. PrePay Registration Commences in Malaysia

EDGE used for remote telemetry applications

digi International has launched a WAN GSM service which provides Ethernet-to-wireless IP connectivity to remote sites and devices via the cellular GSM network. The digi Connect WAN GSM is a gateway that offers an alternative to landline data connections by utilizing Cingular's GPRS/EDGE network for backup network connectivity. Cingular yesterday announced the product as a component in the company's new Wireless WAN Connectivity Service. Customers such as Florida Power and Light and EnerNOC have also chosen the digi Connect WAN GSM for primary and back-up remote site connectivity. more

Siemens wins Malaysian EDGE contract

Siemens Mobile has been commissioned by mobile communications service provider digi Telecommunications to continue to provide EDGE technology on its network - now for the Klang Valley region to the north and south of Kuala Lumpur. Already in May 2003 Siemens was awarded the order to set up Asia's first commercial EDGE network for digi in the capital of Malaysia. more
