Serbia Awards Two CDMA Fixed-Wireless Licenses

Serbia's Telekom Srbije and Media Works have both been granted 10-year fixed wireless licenses based on CDMA technology. Four companies submitted bids, Telekom Srbija, KDS, digi Sat and Media Works, but only two were shortlisted and offered a tender of EUR 540,000 (US$734,000) per license.  more

Digi Q1 Revenues Higher but Profits Down on Costs

Malaysian mobile network, digi.com has posted a 4% growth in revenue amounting to RM1.2 billion (US$337 million) for the first quarter, due to steady demand for mobile services and an increased subscriber base. However, net profit declined by 5% to RM275.4 million (US$77 million), due to higher debt costs and 3G spectrum write-downs.  more

Malaysian Operator Launches HSPA Enabled 3G Network

Malaysian mobile network operator, digi Telecommunications has launched its HSPA network - covering Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Sunway and Bangsar. Customers in other key areas of Klang Valley will be able to experience digi's broadband service within weeks. digi plans to cover more than 1,000 zones at a minimum of 5 market centres by the end of this year.  more

Malaysia's DiGi Offers Free Windows Live Service to Subscribers

DiGi appoints new Chief Technology Officer

Malaysia's Digi Reports Full-Year Revenues Up 10%

Malaysian mobile operator, digi has reported an after-tax-profit of RM1.1 billion (US$304 million) on the back of a 10% growth in revenue to RM4.8 billion (US$1.3 billion) in 2008. The rise in revenue was driven by steady demand for mobile services and an increase in subscriber base to 7.1 million at the end of 2008. Average revenue per user (ARPU) maintained at RM59 (US$16.35).  more
