The persistent rumours that computer maker, dell is preparing to launch a range of mobile phones got another boost when it was reported that the firm could launch its first handsets next month. Handango Publishes Top Smartphone Software Chart
The software retailer, Handango has published its quarterly sales report, detailing the most popular smartphone and PDA software applications. This most recent version of the Yardstick indicated that three smartphones launched within the past year were among the top ten devices adding software based on revenue. The Motorola Q topped the list, overtaking the Palm Treo 650 which had been in the top spot for more than a year, with the BlackBerry Pearl following close behind. The Palm Treo 680, also a newly-released device, ranked at number ten. more

Dell Developing new Windows Mobile Based Smartphone
Taiwan's Quanta Computer is reported to be developing a Windows Mobile based smartphone for sale by dell Computers. Local news publication, DigiTimes - citing industry sources - said that the new handset project is codenamed "Fly" and would probably contain a full QWERTY keyboard and support HSDPA connectivity, although the specifications have not been fixed at the moment. more
