Dell Renews Talk of an Own-Label Smartphone

dell has resurrected talk of a smartphone at an analysts presentation and confirmed that it is in talks with several operators to launch a range of handsets. There have previously been reports that dell had already developed a smartphone, but been rebuffed by European and American operators who felt it was a bit clunky compared to other vendors. Chinese operators however were reported to be interested in the handsets.  more

Dell Rumoured to be Planning Android Based Computers

Computer vendor, dell - which is rumoured to be working on a range of smartphones - is also now understood to be looking at tapping Google's Android operating system for future products. Citing the usual "people familiar with the situation", the Wall Street Journal said that a small software vendor has said that it is working on an Android based netbook or mini-laptop.  more
