Canada's Two CDMA Networks Planning a Migration to WCDMA

Alaska Wireless Orders Rural Coverage Platform
USA based Alaska Wireless has selected Tecore NetworksÃ's Rural Village System (RVS) as the exclusive infrastructure solution for the build-out of the remote regions of Alaska. Tecore says that the operator found that most vendors of rural cellular infrastructure could only provide parts of the network, whereas Tecore has been delivering turnkey mobile networks including core platform and radio access network for over a decade. more

Caribbean Operator Launches Converged GSM & CDMA Network
Tecore Networks has announced that the Turks and Caicos Islands based telco, Islandcom Telecommunications has deployed a platform which supports both GSM and CDMA from a single converged platform. The network will enable Islandcom to serve both the local residents as well as the global tourist population that frequents the islands. Tecore supplied a converged core platform, the GSM and CDMA radio access network, a customer care and billing system, and professional services. more

Huawei PS-CN Helps Mobily Revs up HSDPA Deployment
Huawei says it has been selected to provide Packet Switched Core Network (PS-CN) for HSDPA deployment of Mobily in Saudi Arabia. When completed, this will be one of the world's largest Packet Core installations and the company says that it is expected carry the highest data traffic of any network. more
