Tekelec Wins Additional Signaling Business With Wataniya Telecom

Tekelec says that it has won a follow-on order to provide its EAGLE 5 platform to Wataniya Telecom in Kuwait, giving the operator a central signaling solution to handle core network functions. Tunisian Operator Upgrades GPRS Core Network

Tunisian mobile operator, Tunisiana has modernized its GPRS core network following an upgrade contract which was awarded to Nokia Siemens Networks. The company installed its Flexi ISN, which performs GPRS Gateway Service Node (GGSN) and data charging functionalities, and is fully integrated with the existing Nokia Siemens Networks charge@once prepaid solution to enable flexible charging of data services.  more

T-Mobile and Three to Merge their 3G Radio Access Networks

Hutchison 3G UK (3) and T-Mobile UK have signed an agreement to combine their 3G access networks in a collaboration which they say will lead to almost complete population coverage for 3G services across Britain by the end of 2008 with significant fill in and improvement to dense urban in-building coverage in 2009.  more

CDMA Contract for Marine Communications

UTStarcom has announced a contract to provide its MovingMedia 2000 all-IP CDMA network solution to Maritime Communications Partner (MCP), a Norway-based global maritime cellular operator and wholly owned subsidiary of Norwegian network operator, Telenor. The contract will enable CDMA wireless voice and data services for MCP's fleet of ferry and cruise ship customers. more
