Ericsson has won a contract in Turkish Cyprus from Kuzey Kibris Turkcell - a subsidiary of Turkcell - as the sole supplier of a WCDMA/HSPA network. Guam based mobile operator, Guamcell has awarded a cellular backhaul contract to Exalt Communications. Alcatel-Lucent Wins Italian WiMAX Contract
Alcatel-Lucent has been selected by Italy's Linkem Spa to provide a turnkey WiMAX 802.16e-2005 network (also called Rev-e) in the Lazio Region. Terracina (in Latina Province) will be the first city reached by the service. Linkem is a holder of recent WiMAX licenses in 13 Italian regions, spreading from north to south and reaching 80% of the Italian population. more

ip.access has announced a major picocell supply contract with the European arm of mobile operator T-Mobile International. T-Mobile is now deploying nanoGSM, ip.access' picocell-based solution, to provide dedicated in-building coverage and extended capacity to customers across major GSM networks in Europe. The picocells use existing IP connections to provide backhaul to the core network while avoiding the disruption to building fabric encountered with antenna-based solutions. more
