Making international MMS easier for ringtone providers
comfone has announced the extension of its MMS eXchange (MMSX) service to content providers and content aggregators, offering them the possibility to access international mobile operators via a single link to the comfone MMSX platform. Comfone secures Iraqi roaming deal
comfone says that it has completed the final tests of its roaming broker concept - Key2roam - and has secured its first strategic partner network. GSM to WLAN roaming - billing solution launched
Wireless LAN-to-GSM service integrator, TOGEWAnet, has announced the commercial release of its WeRoam service. WeRoam provides a service bureau and aggregation service for Wireless ISPs and Mobile Operators wishing to enter the WLAN market. WeRoam builds on its association with comfone GSM SS7, billing and clearing service, to enable a similar range of services in the WLAN market. Through WeRoam, WISPs may gain connectivity with the networks of Mobile Operators, and vice versa, so that a common roaming platform is created with an extensive worldwide footprint. This is done with minimal up front cost and maximum use of existing network resources. more

Comfone to offer GPRS roaming trial service to networks
At the 3GSM World Congress 2002 in Cannes a decision was made that GPRS roaming should be pushed forward and connections between all GRXs should be implemented within the next six months in order to provide worldwide coverage to GPRS operators. comfone says that it fully supports this agreement, and the company has defined a trial phase where customers can try out its service for a limited time period. Via a secure access method over the Internet any operator can be connected to their GRX backbone within 2-3 weeks. more
