Telefonica: ICTs can reduce 15% of global emissions by 2020

Telenor Plans 40% Cut in Carbon Emissions by 2016
Telenor has announced that it plans to reduce the carbon intensity of its global operations with 40 per cent by 2016, compared to the 2007 level. Telenor is expecting continued strong growth in the business and in network traffic, but the total emissions in 2016 will be reduced to equal the already low 2007-level. more

Vodafone Aims to Half its CO2 Emissions by 2020
Vodafone has said that by 2020 it intends to reduce its CO2 emissions by 50% against its 2006/7 baseline of 1.23 million tonnes. The company said that this target will be achieved principally by improvements in energy efficiency and increased use of renewable energy. more
