SingTel Earnings Hit by Currency Changes - Seeking Aquisitions in 2009

Grameenphone to Raise $65 Million in Stock Market Floatation

Bangladeshi mobile operator Grameenphone has filed its final application for an initial public offering (IPO) of US$65 million. The company expects the subscription period for the IPO to be late January or early February next year.  more

Bangladeshi Confirms 3G Licenses by Next March

Bangladesh's telecoms regulator, the BTRC has confirmed that it plans to award 3G licenses in the country by March 2009 - a delay on earlier promises to offer the licenses by the end of this year. During the launch of a trial 3G network by Ericsson in August, BTRC chairman Maj Gen (retd.) Manzurul Alam put a valuation of US$200 million on the licenses.  more

Bangladeshi Operators Pay $204 Million for Extra Radio Spectrum

Bangladesh to Require Mobile Network Infrastructure Sharing

Ericsson Trials 3G Network in Bangladesh

According to reports in various local media, Ericsson has set up a demonstration 3G network in Bangladesh. Under the project styled 'Alokito Bangladesh', the company will demonstrate 3G services, including mobile health and mobile learning, in Dhaka until October.  more
