Handango Publishes Top Smartphone Software Chart
The software retailer, Handango has published its quarterly sales report, detailing the most popular smartphone and PDA software applications. This most recent version of the Yardstick indicated that three smartphones launched within the past year were among the top ten devices adding software based on revenue. The Motorola Q topped the list, overtaking the Palm Treo 650 which had been in the top spot for more than a year, with the BlackBerry Pearl following close behind. The Palm Treo 680, also a newly-released device, ranked at number ten. more

Smartphone Content Sales Statistics for 2006
The smartphone software retailer, Handango has released special 2006 year end editions of the Handango Yardstick, a global report on the state of the smartphone content industry. More than 11,000 new software titles were added to the Handango catalog in 2006, with 1,231 new mobile content providers joining the Handango Content Partner Program. Although currently one of the smaller catalogs, BlackBerry had the fastest growing content library with an 81% increase over last year in the number of new applications added. The Pocket PC platform saw the highest number of content titles added at 3,627. more
