China to Allocate Additional Spectrum to 3G Networks
It has been reported that China is planning to allocate additional radio spectrum to the homegrown 3G service, by taking it from the low-cost XiaoLingTong local area wireless service. Xie Feipo, from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that the ministry had asked fixed-line operators to return the PHS radio spectrum so it could be reassigned to the TD-SCDMA network. more

Sales of China's Communications Equipment Remains Stable in Q3
China's CCID Consulting has noted that there are four major factors behind China's telecom power supply market in 2007: TD-SCDMA going to commercial use, 2G expansion, service outsourcing and the breakthrough of abroad scale. Due to seasonal changes in the communications equipment industry, with Q1 and Q3 as low seasons, and Q2 and Q4 as midseasons, telecom power supply also follows a similar seasonal trend. Analysys International says in its recently research China TD-SCDMA Market Quarterly Tracker Q2 2007, that the total market size of TD-SCDMA access network has reached RMB 7.2 billion (US$945 million) in the second quarter of 2007. more
