iPhone in China: China Mobile or China Unicom?

The iPhone distribution negotiations between Apple and China Mobile were first
reported in 2007. While many expected to see the two shake hands, no deal has
yet been announced and it is now rumoured that Apple will partner with China

Telstra Buys Two More Chinese Mobile Content Firms
Australian telco, Telstra has invested in two Chinese mobile content firms - which the company says is part of its plan to achieve A$1 billion (US$668 million) in revenue with strong margins and cash flow from its Chinese media assets by 2013. Fitch Affirms China Mobile's Ratings at A+
Fitch Ratings has today affirmed China Mobile's (CML) Long-term foreign currency Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at 'A+'. Meanwhile the agency has assigned CML an 'A+' Long-term local currency IDR. The Outlook is Stable. more

China Telecom Industry Restructuring - Positive but 3G Uncertainties Remain
The debt ratings agency, Fitch has commented that the recently announced telecommunication (telecom) industry restructuring in China helps somewhat towards resolving the uncertainty that has surrounded the industry for years. The announced industry restructuring falls in line with the agency's expectation, i.e. China Mobile acquires China Tietong Communications Corporation, China Telecom acquires China Unicom's CDMA business and network, and China Unicom's GSM business merges with China Netcom. more
