Trustive Signs Chinese Wi-Fi Roaming Agreement

Wi-Fi hotspot provider, Trustive has signed a roaming deal in China with Coordinate Technologies - giving European Wi-Fi users access to China Mobile's hotspot network. Qiao Xing Mobile to Boost 3G Phone Development Staff

Nortel Software Upgrade Reduces GSM Base Station Power Consumption

Nortel is launching a "Smart Power Management" software platform that the company says helps reduce radio network power consumption in GSM networks and delivers significant energy and cost-savings for mobile operators. Nortel Completes LTE-TDD Wireless Demo in China

China Telecom Aims for 3G Launch Within Three Months

China Mobile Profits Jump 26%

China Mobile Ltd., the listed subsidiary of China Mobile Corp has reported a 26 percent jump in 3rd quarter earnings CNY 27.74 billion (US$4.06 billion), versus CNY 21.97 billion (US$3.2 billion) a year earlier. The company also reported a drop in ARPU partly due to the slow-down in businesses during the Olympics in Beijing as well as a push into lower spending rural markets.  more
