Comba Secures its Largest Order of TD-SCDMA Smart Antennas
Comba Telecom Systems says that it has secured a large order for TD-SCDMA smart antennas from China Mobile for Phase 4 of its 3G network roll out. With actual implementation started in 2010, Phase 4 of the 3G roll out involves more than 100,000 TD-SCDMA base stations, and at least 200,000 sets of TD smart antennas in two categories supporting A-band and F-band: directional smart antennas and integrated antennas for base stations. more

Ericsson Wins Chinese Contracts Worth $1.8 Billion
Ericsson has announced the signing of separate contracts with China Mobile and China Unicom which are collectively worth around US$1.8 billion. Under the agreement with China Mobile, Ericsson will provide a radio access network and mobile soft-switching technology. The framework contract is worth US$1 billion and will be implemented during 2010. more

China Mobile Allowed to Open Taiwan Office
China Mobile has been given permission to open a local office in Tawain, making it the first mainland telecoms company to be allowed to establish a presence in the breakaway republic.
