Nokia has inaugurated its new manufacturing facility in Sriperumbudur, chennai, India. The manufacturing facility in chennai is Nokia's fifteenth manufacturing facility globally. Indian Regulator Orders Tariff Changes
India's regulator, TRAI has issued an order to the mobile network operators in the States of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh not to charge differential tariffs for calls terminating in BSNL network and other service providers networks. Following a license amendment, calls between Mumbai Metro & Maharashtra Telecom Circle, chennai Metro & Tamil Nadu Telecom Circle, Kolkata Metro & West Bengal Telecom Circle and UP (East) & UP (West) Telecom Circle Service Areas were treated as intra-service area calls for the purpose of call routing and levy of ADC. more

Nokia Opens New Office in India
Nokia has announced that it is to locate its new Nokia Global Networks Solutions Center in chennai, India. The Solutions Center will perform network operation tasks for selected operator customers in the Asia Pacific region as well as Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and play a key role as part of Nokia's expanding and innovative managed services offering.
