SK Telecom 3rd-Quarter Profits Jump 25%
South Korea's SK Telecom has reported a 5.4% rise in third-quarter revenues to KRW 3.057 trillion (US$2.57 billion), while operating income rose by 22.7% to KRW 618.8 billion. Net income reached KRW 415.9 billion (US$350 million), growing by 24.7% year-on-year and 33.5% quarter-on-quarter. more

Nokia Shuffles Management After Reporting Quarterly Loss
After posting a loss yesterday, Nokia has announced some changes in its senior management. Rick Simonson, currently Nokia Chief Financial Officer, has been appointed to head of the Mobile Phones entity within the Devices unit from next month. He will also head strategic sourcing for the whole of the Devices unit. more

New President and CEO for ST-Ericsson
ST-Ericsson, a joint venture of STMicroelectronics and Ericsson has announced the appointment of Gilles Delfassy as President and CEO of the company. Alain Dutheil, who led the company during the merger, will work with Delfassy over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition. Delfassy will assume his position as President and CEO effective November 2, 2009. After then, Dutheil will continue to support ST-Ericsson by joining its Board and will return to his previous role as STMicroelectronics' Chief Operating Officer. more

Vodafone Loses Tax Appeal with UK Tax Man
