CDMA2000 Finds Opportunities in Europe, Russia and Emerging Markets in the 450 MHz Band

The CDMA Development Group (CDG) says that cdma450 is rapidly expanding across all regions, and that 126 operators in 65 countries have deployed or are planning to deploy cdma450 services; 105 operators in 58 countries are already offering commercial services to more than 15 million people, and 21 operators are trialing or deploying cdma450 in 8 more countries.  more

CDG Absorbs CDMA450 Trade Group

The CDMA Development Group (CDG) has announced that the International 450 Association (IA450) has been incorporated as part of the CDG in an effort to broaden its reach and tap into additional resources to support global cdma450 initiatives and provide increased benefits for its member companies. The merged IA450 will become a cdma450 Special Interest Group (SIG) within the CDG, continuing its role in promoting cdma450 worldwide.  more

Russian CDMA Operator to Offer Hosted BREW Services

Russian CDMA operator, Sky Link is to commercially launch BREW wireless data services in 31 regions of the Russian Federation, as well as in countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Eastern Europe, including Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. Under the terms of the agreement, Sky Link will not only deliver BREW services to subscribers within its network of licensed territories, but also host BREW services on behalf of regional operators to deliver advanced mobile content to millions of people.  more

Qualcomm: Two national CDMA450 launches likely in 2008

Anadigics Launches CDMA450 Power Amplifier

Anadigics has announced the availability of a linear power amplifier (PA) for the cdma450-based cell phones and wireless local loop applications. The Anadigics AWT6388 PA offers high power and low receive band noise (-134 dBm/Hz) for performance over the extended coverage areas of wide area cdma450 networks. It is built using Anadigics' InGaP HBT technology. more

CDMA450 Spreads - Over 100 Live or Planned Networks

The CDMA Development Group (CDG) and International 450 Association (IA450) have jointly announced that there are 103 operators in 60 countries that have deployed or are planning to deploy cdma450 services; 67 operators in 36 countries are already offering commercial services to more than 12 million people across the world, and 36 networks are being trialed or deployed in 24 more countries. more

Lucent Wins Vietnamese CDMA Contract

Lucent Technologies has announced that Vietnam's EVNTelecom (formerly known as Vietnam Power Telecom) has selected Lucent for its phase III cdma450 network expansion project. The two companies have already deployed a wireless network to provide voice and mobile data services based on cdma450 technology - Lucent's CDMA2000 solution for the 450 MHz spectrum band - in the northern provinces of Vietnam. more

CDMA450 Upgrade for Russia

Russia's Sky Link says that it is increasing the voice capacity of the Sky Link network in Krasnodar and enhancing it with CDMA2000 1xEV-DO technology. Krasnodar Cellular Network, the regional Sky Link operator, and Lucent are upgrading existing Lucent base stations with CDMA2000 1xEV-DO technology and installing new equipment that will enable the operator's Sky Turbo service, which provides data speeds of up to 2.4 Megabits per second. The project is beginning in the cities of Krasnodar, Sochi, and Novorossisk. more
