Consolidation in Romania as Cosmote buys Zapp
Greece's Cosmote Group confirmed earlier rumours and has signed a deal to buy Romania's Telemobil (Zapp) for a total consideration of around EUR205 million. The consideration for the shares of Zapp is estimated at approximately EUR61 million (equity value), while Cosmote will also assume the debt and other liabilities of Zapp, mainly concerning 3G and CDMA network roll out, estimated at approximately EUR 146 million. more

Cosmote Closer to Buying Romanian 3G Operator

Axell Wireless says that it has been awarded the contract to deliver a turnkey wireless coverage solution for the Stockholm Metro railway. CDG Absorbs CDMA450 Trade Group
The CDMA Development Group (CDG) has announced that the International 450 Association (IA450) has been incorporated as part of the CDG in an effort to broaden its reach and tap into additional resources to support global cdma450 initiatives and provide increased benefits for its member companies. The merged IA450 will become a cdma450 Special Interest Group (SIG) within the CDG, continuing its role in promoting cdma450 worldwide. more

CDMA450 Upgrade Completed in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan's Uzbek Mobile has completed a US$6.6 million upgrade of its cdma450 network, Uzmobile's technical director Galina Gafurbekova told the Interfax news agency. The infrastructure, consisting of 70 base stations was supplied by China's Huawei. more
