ZTE, Other 3G Device Providers Play Active Role in Deploying 3G Networks in China

CCID, a research firm in China disclosed recently in an industry report which predicted that the rapid deployment of 3G networks in China will eventually result in the creation of about 660,000 3G subscriber lines by Q3 this year. Nordic CDMA450 Operator Files for Bankruptcy

After failing to restructure the company, Sweden based Nordisk Mobiltelefon Sverige has announced that it is filing for bankruptcy. The company was building up operations and rolling out proprietary cellular networks in Northern Europe based on cdma2000 networks in the 450Mhz bands.  more

Global Mobile Phone Subscribers to Reach 4.5 Billion by 2012

According to MIC (Market Intelligence Center), an ICT industry research institute based in Taipei, global mobile phone subscribers hit 3.1 billion in 2007, thanks mainly to the continuing increase of prepaid subscribers with double SIM cards and corporate clients in the US and European markets. With the global mobile phone penetration rate reaching approximately half of the global population, growth momentum of global subscribers is expected to slow down after 2008.  more
