CDMA Subscriber Base Passed 480 Million Worldwide
The CDMA Development Group (CDG) has announced that high-growth markets such as Africa, China and India are raising the number of CDMA subscribers worldwide closer to half a billion. At the end of the first quarter of 2009, there were 480 million subscribers to the CDMA family of technologies worldwide, including 472 million 3G cdma2000 and 120 million EV-DO broadband users. more

Caribbean & LatAm - 80% now GSM as CDMA suffers record loss
The rise of GSM technology in the Caribbean & Latin American mobile market continued apace in Q3 2007 as a record 25.5m new connections were made. With only 17m net additions in total across the continent in the period, networks of other technologies had to give up a considerable number of customers to swell GSM's ranks to such an extent. The region's AMPS/TDMA networks lost 4.66m customers in the third quarter to end September with 14.3m - less than half the number registered a year earlier. more

CDMA2000 Continues to Expand Rapidly Across all Markets and Regions
The CDMA Development Group (CDG) has announced that 251 operators in 105 countries across all continents of the globe have selected cdma2000 technologies to deliver 3G services, including more than 100 operators which have chosen cdma2000 within the past three years. There are currently 215 cdma2000 operators offering commercial 3G services and 36 more will launch within the next six months. Most of these operators are on the accelerated path to introducing cdma2000 1xEV-DO mobile broadband services; 124 operators have already deployed or are introducing EV-DO Rel 0 and 30 operators have launched or are about to launch EV-DO Rev. Q3 2006 saw the first ever decrease in CDMA customer numbers in Caribbean and Latin America, a direct result of the unabated growth of GSM in the region, which topped 10% in the three months to 30th September 2006.
