The CDMA Development Group (CDG) says that CDMA450 is rapidly expanding across all regions, and that 126 operators in 65 countries have deployed or are planning to deploy CDMA450 services; 105 operators in 58 countries are already offering commercial services to more than 15 million people, and 21 operators are trialing or deploying CDMA450 in 8 more countries. more

CDMA450 Spreads - Over 100 Live or Planned Networks
The CDMA Development Group (CDG) and International 450 Association (IA450) have jointly announced that there are 103 operators in 60 countries that have deployed or are planning to deploy CDMA450 services; 67 operators in 36 countries are already offering commercial services to more than 12 million people across the world, and 36 networks are being trialed or deployed in 24 more countries. more

The CDMA Development Group (CDG)has announced that the number of CDMA2000 operators reached 143 at the end of the last year, and the technology is now deployed in 67 countries across 6 continents. Furthermore, the number of 1xEV-DO networks nearly doubled from 16 to 29 in 2005. CDMA2000 momentum will continue in 2006, with 30 new operators scheduled to deploy commercial networks (compared to 20 last year) and 21 additional trials underway. The number of 1xEV-DO networks will reach 70 in the coming months, and 1xEV-DO Rev A will enter the commercial phase. more

Vietnam expanding its CDMA450 coverage
Vietnam Power Telecom (VP Telecom) has selected Lucent for its phase II CDMA450 network expansion project. Lucent and VP Telecom have already completed the deployment of a wireless network to provide voice and high-speed data services based on CDMA450 technology -- Lucent's CDMA2000 1X solution for the 450 MHz spectrum band -- in the northern provinces of Vietnam. more
Rural CDMA launched in Argentina
China's Huawei and Argentina's CoTeCal have announced the successful commercial launch of the first 450MHz CDMA2000 1x & 1x EV-DO end-to-end network deployed in the entire area of Latin America. With this solution CoTeCal will be able to provide rural areas not only with ordinary telephone communications but also high speed data rates for Internet interconnections. The network was implemented in the Chalten, Patagonia area, one of the most beautiful areas in Argentina where tourism is a main source of income. more

The port of Murmansk in Northern Russia - the world's largest city north of the Arctic Circle - is to receive a CDMA450 network from China's ZTE. This latest success for ZTE follows a contract win with Skylink, Russia's largest CDMA operator, which will see ZTE provide a CDMA2000 1X system to cover all of Murmansk, Russia's largest seaport on the Arctic Ocean. more

CDMA450 network completed in Indonesia
Huawei Technologies, has announced that it has already successfully built the 450 MHz CDMA2000 1X network for Mobisel, the only CDMA450 operator in Indonesia. Huawei is the sole vendor who has supplied an end-to-end CDMA450 solution in the project, including the base stations, the switching system, and user terminals. And also, the solution is designed at a higher level to offer smooth evolution to 3G. more

Belarus to get a CDMA450 network upgrade
China's Huawei Technologies has signed a contract with BelCel, the exclusive CDMA cellular operator of Belarus, to upgrade its existing analogue network to CDMA450. Under the agreement, Huawei will provide BelCel with CDMA450 total solution, which is based on CDMA2000 1X technology. The contracted network covers Belarus capital Minsk and a vast majority of Belarus regions. more
