ZTE SDR Base Station Records Over 100,000 Volume Shipment
China's ZTE has announced that its SDR base station recorded a total volume shipment of 107,000 units in less than one year: since its latest product advancement in October 2008 through April 2009. ZTE Records 48,000 CDMA Volume Shipments in Spring 2009
China's ZTE has announced that it shipped 48,000 cdma base station units worldwide in the first four months of 2009, almost reaching the total shipment volume in 2008. cdma SDR-based base stations accounted for 91% of the total 48,000 shipments. Its ZXSDR BS8800, an SDR base station with capacity of 48 carrier-sectors, shipped over 25,000 units over the same period. more

ZTE Records 10 Million Terminal Shipments in Q1 2009
ZTE has announced that its terminal products recorded 10 million units shipped globally in Q1 2009, representing an increase of 30% compared with the same period last year. In Q1 2009, 68% of ZTE's terminal shipments were to overseas markets, delivering terminals to over 100 countries and regions. During this time, ZTE's cdma handsets recorded 2.5 million shipments in the global market, exceeding its total cdma handsets shipment volume in 2008. more

China's ZTE is close to breaking into the top-5 of global handset manufacturers after it saw handset shipments jump by 40% in 2008 to reach 45 million units, according to the Taiwan based DigiTimes publication. 3G-4G to Account for 30% of Global Wireless Subscriptions by 2013
At the end of 2008, only 11% of worldwide wireless subscriptions were 3G. By the end of 2013, the percentage of 3G and 4G subscriptions will reach 30%, reports In-Stat. This trend is reflected in fourth quarter 2008 wireless infrastructure contract awards. more

Nigerian Operator Planing $500 Million CDMA Network
Nigerian telecom operator, MegaTech Networks says that it plans to invest at least US$500 million to roll out a cdma based network across 23 of the country's 36 states. The company was recently granted a Unified Access Licence from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), which includes support for 3G services. more
