Thailand's True Corp Buys Hutch's CDMA Network

­Thailand's True Corp announced a deal at the end of last week that gives it effective control of Hutchison Telecom's local cdma network for a price of THB6.3 billion ($208.8 million).  Following the purchase, Hutch will continue to provide services to the state-owned cdma network, CAT, but will be aiming to move CAT over to its HSPA network throughout Thailand.  more

Apple Raises iPhone Shipment Forecasts on CDMA Handset Launch

­Apple is reported to have told its Taiwanese suppliers that it is raising its sales projections for the iPhone for first-quarter 2011 from 19 million units originally to 20-21 million units. Nepal Telecom Planning CDMA Network Expansion

Telecom New Zealand to Shut-Down its CDMA Network

Telecom New Zealand has announced plans to shut-down its cdma network as it continues to migrate customers over to its recently deployed Wcdma platform. The company said that cdma roaming would cease at the end of this October, and the 3G network will close down at the end of this November. The 2G based cdma network will close in 2012.  more
