Apple's CDMA iPad Has Lower Materials Cost than GSM Counterpart

First PrePay CDMA to GSM Network Roaming Call Completed

Roaming services providers, Mach and Accuris Networks have announced the world's first ever pre-paid inter-standard roaming call was made while roaming on to a GSM network by a cdma customer. The call was made possible by Mach's Inter-Standard Roaming (ISR) platform, which uses Accuris Networks' AccuROAM inter-working platform, and as the result of an agreement signed with Starcomms Nigeria to deploy Mach's ISR solutions which is a first in Africa.  more

CDMA Network Launched in Tanzania

A new network has launched in Tanzania, as Dovetel started its cdma network in Dar-es-Salaam. The network, branded as Sasatel will expand its network in several phases over the next few years. The company is 65% owned by PME African Infrastructure Opportunities, an investment company established to invest in sub-Saharan African infrastructure and infrastructure related industries.  more

Myanmar Boosts CDMA Network Capacity

The authorities in Burma (Myanmar) are reported to be planning to boost the cdma network capacity by 150,000 subscribers in the two main cities of Yangon and Mandalay. According to the Xinhua news agency, the country had just over 200,000 cdma subscribers at the end of last year, compared to 375,800 GSM subscribers.  more

India's Reliance Seeks 100 Million Subscribers by Year-End

Mongolia Gets HSPA Network Upgrade

ZTE First-Quarter Profits Up by 29%

China's ZTE has reported that its first-quarter revenues reached RMB 11.67 billion (US$1.71 billion), representing an increase of 35% compared with the same period last year. Net profit was RMB 78.66 million (US$11.54 million), representing an increase of 29.17% compared with the same period last year.  more
