Enhancements quadruple the voice capacity of existing CDMA2000 1X networks

The CDMA Development Group (CDG) has announced that the specifications for CDMA2000 1X Advanced have been completed and published by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project 2 (3GPP2). ­The 1X Advanced standard allows 3G CDMA operators to significantly increase the voice capacity of their CDMA2000 1X network by taking advantage of several interference cancellation and radio link enhancements. Among these improvements are base transceiver station (BTS) interference cancellation, improved power control, early frame termination, and smart blanking.  more

CDMA Subscriber Base Passed 480 Million Worldwide

The CDMA Development Group (CDG) has announced that high-growth markets such as Africa, China and India are raising the number of CDMA subscribers worldwide closer to half a billion. At the end of the first quarter of 2009, there were 480 million subscribers to the CDMA family of technologies worldwide, including 472 million 3G CDMA2000 and 120 million EV-DO broadband users.  more

India Passes 100 Million CDMA Subscriber Landmark

EV-DO Mobile Broadband Tops 100 Million Subscribers Worldwide

The CDMA Development Group (CDG) says that CDMA2000 and 1xEV-DO technologies have surpassed 450 million and 100 million users, respectively, worldwide. The total cumulative cdmaOne and CDMA2000 subscriber base has reached 463 million, growing by 12 million net subscribers during the second quarter of 2008.  more

LG Telecom's CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev. A Data Service, Thrives in Korea

The CDMA Development Group (CDG) has commented that LG TelecomÃ's new CDMA2000 1x EV-DO Rev. A data service is flourishing in the highly-competitive Korean wireless services market, adding about 100,000 new data subscribers per month to its 3G data service, "OZ" ("Open Zone"). The service has already resulted in a 14% increase in data average revenue per user (ARPU) from the previous quarter and a total of 287,000 OZ subscribers at the end of July.  more

CDG Absorbs CDMA450 Trade Group

The CDMA Development Group (CDG) has announced that the International 450 Association (IA450) has been incorporated as part of the CDG in an effort to broaden its reach and tap into additional resources to support global CDMA450 initiatives and provide increased benefits for its member companies. Thai Operator Launches EV-DO Rev. A Upgrade
