Space Data Tests CDMA Base Station Covering 20,000 Sq Miles

Nokia Announces Three New CDMA Based Mobile Phones

­Nokia is strengthening its cdma portfolio with the announcement of three new cdma mobile phones - the Nokia 6316s, Nokia 3806 and Nokia 1506. The Nokia 1506 is expected to become available in China at the end of 2009, while the Nokia 6316s and the Nokia 3806 are expected to become available during the first quarter of 2010.  more

Chinese Believe WCDMA Phones Superior to CDMA and TD-SCDMA Models

Alcatel-Lucent Deploys CDMA EV-DO Upgrade in Shanghai

­Alcatel-Lucent says that China Telecom, through its subsidiary Shanghai Telecom, successfully tested and validated Alcatel-Lucent's multicarrier EV-DO solution, based on the Rev. B standard. The contract was signed through Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell, Alcatel-Lucent's Chinese subsidiary.  more

CDMA Certification Forum Now the Sole Certification Authority for all CDMA2000 Devices

­The cdma Certification Forum (CCF) has announced that the CTIA cdma Certification Program has been integrated into the CCF certification process by creating a CTIA Certification Market Endorsement. This latest milestone comes in addition to the cdma Development Group (CDG) transferring its 1, 2 and 3 test guidelines and endorsing the CCF as the official certification authority for all cdma2000 devices worldwide.  more

First Active Handover Between LTE and CDMA Networks Demonstrated

­LG and Nortel have demonstrated the world's first 3GPP standards compliant active handover of a data transmission between a LTE network and a cdma network. Inter-technology handover allowing mobile users the ability to move between LTE and cdma networks without losing data connectivity means that operators can run these networks concurrently without impacting services. This will help to ensure that users have full network coverage while taking advantage of LTE speeds, wherever initially available.  more

India's CDMA Operators' Data Network Performance Has a Distinct Edge over GSM

The first phase of a study of the Indian mobile networks data capabilities has found that cdma technology has a distinct edge over GSM across all of the top six Data Network performance metrics. The Nielsen Consumer Experience Mobile Test program studied differences in Data Network performance between cdma and GSM technologies in 39 markets.  more
