Alcatel-Lucent Deploys CDMA EV-DO Upgrade in Shanghai

CDMA Certification Forum Now the Sole Certification Authority for all CDMA2000 Devices

­The cdma Certification Forum (CCF) has announced that the CTIA cdma Certification Program has been integrated into the CCF certification process by creating a CTIA Certification Market Endorsement. This latest milestone comes in addition to the cdma Development Group (CDG) transferring its 1, 2 and 3 test guidelines and endorsing the CCF as the official certification authority for all cdma2000 devices worldwide.  more

First Active Handover Between LTE and CDMA Networks Demonstrated

­LG and Nortel have demonstrated the world's first 3GPP standards compliant active handover of a data transmission between a LTE network and a cdma network. Inter-technology handover allowing mobile users the ability to move between LTE and cdma networks without losing data connectivity means that operators can run these networks concurrently without impacting services. India's CDMA Operators' Data Network Performance Has a Distinct Edge over GSM

The first phase of a study of the Indian mobile networks data capabilities has found that cdma technology has a distinct edge over GSM across all of the top six Data Network performance metrics. The Nielsen Consumer Experience Mobile Test program studied differences in Data Network performance between cdma and GSM technologies in 39 markets.  more

Casio Computer Licenses CDMA and Bluetooth Patents

Casio Computer has signed a multi-year running royalty agreement covering Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cdma products with Wi-LAN Inc. The specific terms of the agreement are confidential. This license with Casio brings the total number of license agreements signed so far this quarter to ten and the total number of wireless license agreements signed to date to 69.  more

CDMA Subscriber Base Passed 480 Million Worldwide

The cdma Development Group (CDG) has announced that high-growth markets such as Africa, China and India are raising the number of cdma subscribers worldwide closer to half a billion. At the end of the first quarter of 2009, there were 480 million subscribers to the cdma family of technologies worldwide, including 472 million 3G cdma2000 and 120 million EV-DO broadband users.  more
