Czech Republic Requiring Operators to Retain Call Data Records
The Czech Republic's Chamber of Deputies has passed a controversial law which requires the local mobile operators to retain all call records for use by the security services. The bill, which the government says simply brings the country in line with existing EU legislation was opposed by the Social Democrats and Communists. It passed after the Green party changed their stance and decided to support it. more

Radcom Adds UMTS RAN to Test Platform
Radcom has unveiled a new Omni-Q probe for UMTS radio access network (UTRAN) monitoring and troubleshooting. The new Omni-Q R70 enables UMTS service providers to monitor and analyze traffic, track calls and sessions, and detect and report abnormal network conditions at the Iu and Iub interfaces. It generates call detail records (CDRs) for every call or session, and creates complete call-tracing files for detailed analyses. more

The French wireless telecommunications provider Bouygues Telecom has selected Fair Isaac's RoamEx roamer data exchanger to enhance inbound roaming revenue and reduce roaming fraud for their roaming partners. Through the agreement, Bouygues Telecom joins a roster of 75 telecommunications networks worldwide that currently leverage the RoamEx network, the leading roamer visibility network, to exchange roaming data and grow their business.
